Mabala Noise bought Metro Award - Former employee

A former employee of Mabala Noise alleges that her former employers paid Metro FM to win awards at recent Metro Music Awards hosted in Durban.

"I am not surprised they were big winners at the MMAs. Everything was staged there. I know for sure that money exchanged hands. Nasty C is good but there is no way he got more votes than Babes Wodumo and King Monada," she said.

"Mabala Noise is run by ambitious clever people. They will do whatever to garner publicity for their artists. They have money than any other stable in South Africa. I won't be surprised if they pay for one of their artists to win a Grammy," she continued.

Mabala Noise is not new to controversy. They came under fire early this year when one of their unknown songs Van Damme won 2016 SABC Summer Song of the Year. Many South Africans expected the popular songs of 2016, Wololo and Ska Bhora Moreki to walk with the accolade.

It was alleged that Mabala Noise bosses used their political connections to influence the decision to crown Van Damme is the hottest song of 2016.

Attempts to get a comment from Mabala Noise drew blanks.
